OUR STORY

BGZ brands was founded in 2002 as a screen protection company for the original handhelds and PDAs. It grew quickly with the evolution of smartphones and has become a leader and innovator in the industry, offering a wide variety of protective solutions for mobile devices. Through the development of new brands, BGZ brands became the powerhouse parent company to three distinct brands of elevated value and quality: BodyGuardz, Lander, and Moxyo. BGZ brands is headquartered in Lehi, Utah.

100% Recylable, Plastic-Free Packaging
We are proud that all of our packaging is 100% paper. This allows for simple curbside recycling and removes any recycling barriers. If packaging combines a variety of materials such as paper and plastic, the consumer must break it apart for recycling. When this is not done, the package goes to the landfill, even though the combined materials may be recyclable. Plastics can take hundreds, and in some cases thousands, of years to break down. Since 2020 BGZ has been committed to a concerted initiative to provide plastic-free packaging as well as renewable product solutions and we will continue to push our industry to recognize the responsibility we all have to invest in sustainable solutions.

We are proud to announce that all BodyGuardz and Lander packaging for our fall launch are 100% paper. This allows for simple curbside recycling and removes any recycling barriers. If packaging combines a variety of materials such as paper and plastic, the consumer must break it apart for recycling. When this is not done, the package goes to the landfill, even though the combined materials may be recyclable. Plastics can take hundreds, and in some cases thousands, of years to break down. This fall marks our first concerted initiative to provide plastic-free BodyGuardz and Lander packaging as we commit to doing our part for the environment. Starting in 2021, our Moxyo line packaging will be plastic-free as well.
Innovative Materials
We pride ourselves in ongoing research efforts and a commitment to innovating the materials we use in our products. Resources must be more eco-friendly, including the use of bio-plastics and recycled materials. We have fully converted to soy-based ink on our packaging which emits less than 20% of the volatile organic compounds (VOCs) found in petroleum-based inks. Strong Partnerships
We have formed solid partnerships with companies such as Repreve®, the leader in ocean plastic recycling, and will continue to incorporate their materials into our future lines. Our foreign factories are committed to helping us source eco-friendly materials while enhancing their manufacturing with new technologies that save time, eliminating unnecessary overages and waste in production.
Elevated Processes
We currently import the vast majority of materials and products internationally via boat, which drastically reduces our carbon footprint. We offer multiple fulfillment centers for our online and retail orders, which means not only lower carbon emissions, but also faster shipping times for our customers. Our order processing team makes a concerted effort to decrease overall waste by reducing the size of shipping boxes, as well as using only 100% recyclable materials.
Office Initiatives
Inside our office, we have introduced a company-wide program to reduce plastic waste. We supply a reusable water bottle to every employee and have invested in a state-of-the-art FloWater system. All employees are provided with a portable laptop that can be used in meetings to reduce paper needs. Internal emphasis on using digital communication and file share is stressed to reduce excess paper waste. Company-branded bicycles are available for employees to bike to local eateries throughout the day, reducing car emissions.
